We busy ourselves to avoid a whole range of complicated thoughts and feelings about life, not just thoughts about death. And staying busy can be an important and welcome way of staying healthy mentally and emotionally. At the same time, we may not be aware of the way being busy plays out in our day. Some gentle awareness of how we occupy ourselves and the impact our activity has on our energy levels and mood can support our ability to toggle between doing and being mindfully.
