There are some memories that we return to again and again like we do to the flickering light of a fireplace in a cozy living room, to a busy family kitchen table spread with food, to an old, familiar, and warm blanket that helps us sleep through the night. We can wrap ourselves up in simulations of the sights, sounds, and smells from that time and place. In this way, these memories can live on in us for many years, maybe even whole lifetimes, taking up space in our bodies, fueling the beating of our hearts and inspiring us to keep reaching toward each other. In a real way, these memories may truly keep us going. What's a favorite memory of yours? [image description: Three hearts are gathered on a hillside under a large tree at dusk on an autumn eve. They are peering across a valley at a gathering of three coyotes. One of the coyotes is howling. Text reads: "I miss spending time all of us together."]
