We are constantly balancing self and others. Being self-oriented can be really helpful when our boundaries are vulnerable to being crossed. Being other-oriented can be really helpful when a lot is happening fast and we may be at risk of rolling over each other. Grounding our practices in self- and other-oriented thinking, feeling, and being in the body can help us toggle between these capacities as we move through the world. What is something you've noticed yourself doing, saying, or thinking to bring you into conversation with your different capacities to attune? [image description: A heart with a quizzical facial expression stands looking out at the viewer. Inside the heart's chest is a smaller heart that says, "me." The bigger heart also has a thought bubble and in the bubble is another smaller heart that says, "me." Text reads, "'The mind says we. The heart says we.' — Spring Washam"]
