Even when we are right next to each other we can struggle to have direct and connected communication that is unencumbered by the static of our own minds. Sometimes we may knowingly support each other in having conversations that drift and are noisy as a way of relaxing with each other. Sometimes we work very hard to be present with each other and quiet the extra noise. And sometimes there is a mismatch in states when we get together to talk. What's one way that you practice being present in conversation? What's one way that you and others make agreements to drift in conversation?
