Sometimes in life we just need to catch a ride. We may be carried along emotionally by the love and support of a friend, pulled forward physically by an electric-powered machine, or spiritually uplifted by a transcendent encounter. Or, we may find ourselves barely holding on as the world around us races forward, changes coming at us faster than we can change ourselves. And still other times, we may be offered a seat in another's car or a place at another's dinner table, and we may have an opportunity to take a break and rest and receive care. There may always be times that we are slower than others, and we likely need to find ways to keep going even when we are not at the head of the pack. What helps you stay calm and hopeful when you are feeling slow and lost?
[image description: An egret stands in an awkward post on the back of a zebra that is trotting through a dry, grassy plain, as the sun rises in a pink sky. The egret is looking the direction the zebra is moving, and the egret is having the anthropomorphic thought, "You must learn to rest where you are slower than others." A heart with a quizzical facial expression stands in the field watching the egret and the zebra.]
