Difference, despite what we may have been taught, is one of life's greatest gifts to us. Difference can give us access to curiosity, wonder, and awe, as well as experiences of learning and appreciating. Without difference, the world could be pretty dull. Yet, for a variety of reasons it may make sense to approach difference with caution, especially when difference occurs along with forces that hurt us. How do you approach difference when it is challenging to do so?
[image description: Four finches of varying colors are perched across two leafy tree branches and all share the anthropomorphic thought, "You must learn to rest in difference." In the distance, a heart stands on a hill looking at the finches with a quizzical facial expression. Text reads: "Finch Meditation."]
