There can be something not quite clear and not quite unclear about when we choose to include and when we choose to exclude. We may need to be able to do either or both in different moments of our lives. How do you practice knowing when you will include and when you will exclude? What helps you navigate moments when you aren't sure which to do or when in some way you need both? [image description: A somewhat large group of hearts are positioned around a range of overlapping gray circles on the ground. The overlaps are darker gray where there is more overlapping. There is one circle that does not overlap with any other circles and one heart is on this circle. The hearts look all around in different directions. Text reads: "Inclusion. Exclusion."] #MindfulHearts RETROSPECTIVE ~ 11/29 ~ on this day 2021 2020 2019 2018 ~ celebrating four years of daily cartoons ~

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
