In Buddhism, metta or benevolence is one of four interacting brahmaviharas or divine abodes that we can cultivate in our earthly hearts and minds through practice. Part of the practice includes growing our capacity to extend metta to all beings, including to ourselves. Through metta meditation, we can learn to soothe our our own nervous system and in turn we can contribute to communal ease, harmony, and well-being. Whether metamours are close or distant in their relationship, they can still practice cultivating loving kindness for each other. Tag or give a shout-out to a metamour or to anyone who you want to wish wellness to today.
