Sometimes a particular metamour, or a particular metamour dynamic, or the whole concept of metamours just freaks us out. And it's maybe not at all because we're being stubborn, or bad at relating, or small and hardened in our hearts. We maybe are having real trauma responses to a situation. Real past harm that has created real ongoing and current hurt in us may be reactivated through real psychological, physiological, sociological, and spiritual processes. If we override the needs of these hurt places, we maybe could experience real harm again. So when we freak out we maybe are just in a moment of high alert in order to protect ourselves. How do you give yourself permission to freak out? How do you let others know that freaking out is also just a way of protecting your heart?
