Even while metamours may be connected and, one way or another, live in each other's hearts and minds, they don't have to develop a thriving relationship of their own. Metamours may not get along, they may find each other boring, they may be saturated with other relationships and life activities, and they may just not be in the right moment to grow something of their own together. Not having an extensive relationship with a metamour does not mean that we have a bad relationship with them or that we have ill will for them or that we are doing metamour relationships wrong. It doesn't mean anything at all other than whatever it means to us in particular in our own hearts. How do you help yourself remember that there is no right way to relate to a metamour?
