Generally, a lot can and does happen in social situations that is never put into words or spoken openly and directly. We may catch ourselves in a group interaction realizing just how much is going on all at once. This experience may bring up a combination of feelings: fear, overwhelm, alienation, pain, confusion, astonishment, joy, pleasantness, and even boredom. We may need a variety of coping strategies to stay present, self-compassionate, and self-loving. When a lot is happening quickly in a group setting, what helps you stay connected to yourself and to the group at the same time? MindfulHearts retrospective. On this day 2019. On this day 2018. Celebrating two years of daily cartoons. [image description: A large group of hearts are connected in various ways in space and sharing looks and various facial expressions with each other.]

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
