Times of intense mourning can bring our priorities into focus. However, these times can also muddy awareness and clarity of our deeper values. We may benefit, when possible, to create time-bound space for ourselves to think over and feel into decisions that are important to our lives. What helps you make important or big decisions when you are grieving? [image description: Four hearts in a row smile out at the viewer. Each has distinct hair, from left to right: a mop of dark curly hair, a single wild braid of hair, a single curl, and a bar handle mustasche. Text reads: "Day 22 of Mourning," and "Enjoy the company of others but make no new proclamations about relationships."] #MindfulHearts RETROSPECTIVE ~ 7/22 ~ on this day 2021 2020 2019 2018 ~ celebrating four years of daily cartoons ~

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
