We're not supposed to just not care because it was suicide. We're not supposed to reject the person we lost for doing something wrong or bad, and we're not supposed to believe that they did what they wanted and we should accept that. We get to feel however we feel and we just will feel that way anyway. Suicide grief is normal, and we need to tell each other that over and over and over and over. How can you help normalize suicide grief? ~ Suicide LifeLine dial or text 988 or dial 1.800.273.8255 [image description: A heart with a slight frown and stressed out eyes looks downward slightly. In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
