Borders and prisons don't define where families begin and end, but bad policies can impact the health and wellness of families. The 2015 report Who Pays? The True Cost of Incarceration on Families made a big step forward in naming and making explicit the damage prisons have on families. The 2017 report US Immigration Policy and the Case for Family Unity similarly calls out the detrimental effects of family separation and the benefits of family unity. What's one way that you or your community has been negatively affected by policies that are bad for families? Across the bars, text reads: "This is a family."]
