Relationships are unique. Sometimes we can't adequately describe a relationship of ours to another person who is not in the relationship. Sometimes we can't even adequately describe the relationship to ourselves. We may need more than words to know what is happening — we may need to feel the relationship, to behold it in quiet presence, and to understand that the relationship is impermanent, will not be contained by our clinging to it, and will necessarily change over time and maybe in fact as soon as we join in as witnesses of it.
