In our consumer culture, the impulse to throw things away may become overdeveloped in us. At the same time, we may try to remedy this situation by never throwing anything away, making arguments for the salvaging of every corner of our shadow selves. Yet there may be some things at some moments in time that merit being outright discarded. How do you make decisions about what you do and don't trash?
