Maybe it's ok to — and we even need to — hide from each other and from ourselves in ways and on occasions. Perhaps the ways that we hide help us take rests, protect our hearts, and navigate the wide expanses of life more safely. Then again, sometimes the ways we hide can keep us small and closed away from the joy and goodness of living out in the open — of the bigness of our deepest strivings.
