Taking a stand for what is right can be scary, dangerous, and at times impossible and other times necessary, and sometimes all of these at once. And we may hold a range of beliefs about marching for our freedom. What do you believe about public protest? [image description: A group of peacefully protesting hearts are standing in front of a row of soldiers or police people with guns. The protesting hearts have a range of emotions in their facial expressions, sadness, fear, anger, calm. One is holding a flower out toward the soldiers. Another is holding a sign in the air with hearts on it that says, "abolish the police!" Text reads: "fomo — FEAR OF MARCHING OUT"] #MindfulHearts RETROSPECTIVE ~ 12/5 ~ on this day 2021 2020 2019 2018 ~ celebrating four years of daily cartoons ~

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
