Having a cookie picnic in the open playa at Black Rock City might amount to eating a lot of dust and not actually be all that pleasant as far as dining experiences go. But I was reminded this year through conversation with a dear friend who brought cookies to share with our theme camp that, while it can take a lot of energy to put yourself out there and meet people, sharing your gifts, like homemade cookies, can radically alter what is possible socially.
