Just because we have regret and are even able to name and own our regrets openly with others, we may still struggle to forgive ourselves and to know what or how we can do better in the future. Tolerating our own coming to terms with our regrets can be a big challenge. What helps you be with your regret while you're working to forgive yourself and to learn to do better? [image description: Two hearts stand facing each other. The heart on the left has a somewhat worried facial expression, leans in toward the other heart, and says, "I don't like the way I did that." The speech bubble has a very faint gray background. The heart on the right calmly responds, "What would you do differently?" This speech bubble has a light gray background. The heart on the left responds back once more, "I'm not sure." This third and last speech bubble is filled with a darker gray background. Text reads: "Regret."] #MindfulHearts RETROSPECTIVE ~ 11/26 ~ on this day 2021 2020 2019 2018 ~ celebrating four years of daily cartoons ~

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
