My mother and her mother were each amazing artists in their own right. My sister was my first peer that I felt inspired by to make art. When I was very little, I remember sitting and watching with awe and admiration as my sister drew the hair on a portrait. Seeing women in my family make art has been a huge gift to my heart. Even the shared heritage of self-doubt of our role as artists was a gift that has spurred my commitment to art making and to myself. What's something you experience as a gift from your ancestors? |
Today's cartoon is the glorious reimagining of a drawing I didn't know what to do with until one of my Patreon supporters added just the magic it needed to bring this image back from the trash pile. |
